Dear Sir,

As per my homework, relay will not operate.

Is it right or wrong?

If open circuit in any one winding, then the current in primary and secondary of the same phase will be zero. So there will be no difference of current in the same phase of primary and secondary. So in this case the differential relay will not operate.

right..??

Correct, as long as the sum of the currents going in equals the sum of the currents going out then the relay should not operate.

relay will be operate by my idea because relay work on current difference. if winding open than current value will be diffrent in each phase so relay will be work.

thanks

Differential protection is operated with current. Without path (open CCT), no currents. We need to make path for electrons.
