First Live Cancer Surgery Broadcast Using Virtual Reality

04/13/2016 10:04 AM

With the flurry of medical-themed posts appearing this week, I thought this would be an interesting addition.

UK-based Medical Realities will be broadcasting a live colon cancer surgery in 3D virtual reality. Use the Google Cardboard along with an iOS or Android phone to experience the operation, or stream the procedure to your mobile device.

The broadcast will begin on April 14 at 1 PM in UTC+01.

It probably won't get the box-office cachet of "Fantastic Voyage", though.

If any of you folks out there watch, please report back, using your best objective scientific reporting skills. I know you have them.
