This sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

What voltage? 20, 30 or 40V?

AC, DC, or MVD?

LCD, LED, CRT or BMOC?

Talk to your instructor and ask for clarification.

Feeling electric currents is a sign of danger. The human body uses very tiny and usually well controlled amounts of current. Interfering with an external source of current will be unpleasant if not lethal. This is a bad idea.

It really depends on the application.

What is the purpose of this, what is it controlling and who are the users of the screen going to be?

Why not use something else such as heat, its a lot safer and less prone to the varying electrical sensitivity of individual persons (unless this is an experiment where this is the test).

I would start with a read up on electric safety.

Understanding what current does and how much current you actually can safely be exposed to. Also check low voltage systems and see how low voltage is used to limit exposure to high currents.

Sounds like a learning project for kids but could become a real danger.

Do not try it at home!

Please ensure that all other CR4 readers are out of contact with the equipment before energising.

As others have said: not a practical idea.

What about an ultrasonic haptic feedback system.

First, welcome to CR4!

Second, I think it is a really interesting idea, although I have to agree with those who have indicated that it is too dangerous to implement. The liability is just too great.

There is a GREAT variation from one individual to the next in their sensitivity and reaction to electric current. I speak from considerable personal experience here: When I was teaching, one thing I did commonly with my students was to have the entire class (except one trustworthy student) form a circle holding hands. I would always be in the loop, usually at a break in the loop. The first and last person in the loop would hold wires coming from an old crank-telephone ringer, so the ring current passed through the entire loop. The trustworthy student would then start cranking the generator, slowly at first, then gradually faster, until someone broke the loop because they found the current uncomfortable. That person would then exit the loop, of course leaving a shorter resistance path, so a little more current would flow the next time.

We would thus continue, eliminating those most sensitive, until only two people were left. Of course whoever didn't let go last was declared the winner. Very commonly, that person was yours truly. I have an oily skin type, and I suspect that contributes to my being less sensitive than others. I also had a lot of experience being shocked, both intentionally and otherwise, so I was "used to it". Often, the first few who let go, did so before I could feel anything.

If I were still teaching, I probably would NOT repeat the experiment, due to possible liability, even though I believe it was a great learning experience. I don't recall if I ever had a current or voltage meter in the loop; I wish I had!

24ma can be lethal. some people can not feel this amount of current. You need to rethink this.

Trolls come and trolls go.
