Wotsa Magnifier Engine?

06/28/2016 12:03 PM

Magnifier Engine... Saves you $$$ on your electric bill... Easy to assemble...

Why oh why hasn't the world beaten a path to this fellow's house?

Darren Holman and his Magnifier Engine. I can't find any documentation regarding just what it is, or what it is supposed to do to save energy. In fact, I can't find much of anything except how to order the instruction CD, and reviews that all seem to be thumbs up.

Can anyone shed any light on this inevitable sham?

Well, yeah!

But the question is, what sort of a crock? Other energy reduction scams put something in your hand that won't perform as advertised. This guy, best I can figure, sells you a planset for constructing some sort of device (out of items that are likely laying about your house already, he says). I suppose that might be the legal escape... When it doesn't work, you've built it incorrectly somehow.

I sort of doubt many people have a Stirling engine laying about, or an alternator or dynamo.

I did the calculations once on heating water with a magnifying glass in a stainless tube. so sure at a point you can get well over 1000 degrees but the BTU's are a joke.

So, you're sayin' I might not get the claimed 80% reduction of my monthly electric bill charges?

The documentation I find does say Up To 80% reduction... I guess zero is Up To 80%.

I still can't see what supposed to be happening.

A tracking conical or linear parabolic reflector could focus sunlight quite nicely on an axial pipe, probably without fear of over-temperature. A parabola-of-revolution reflector focuses to a point, which can melt metal if there is a failure in circulation of heat exchange fluid.

Nah, we let this one go past. Emphasis within LynDoor Industries R&D is being placed on our Baconator Shirts, and the very promising field of Light Compression and Storage Technology. The 710 Cap line is operational, and cash from that division is pouring in so fast we are coating $100 bills in black and sending them to Liberia. We'll pick up residual income through the sale of the SSD Solution at some later date.

When promotions and reviews are written in language suitable only for gullible persons, it is a good bet the product is the same.

Only if you trust idiots a little more than crooks. That was one of the reviews that led to my earlier assessment.

Even if I did, that wouldn't make me like him.
