Weed Eater Style Handle

06/29/2016 12:02 PM

Greetings everyone, it's good to be back.

I have relocated and started a new job in a promising position and I am already needing your diverse experience and knowledge.

I am looking for a handle similar to a weed eater handle like these. It needs to be 7/8" ∅ and all the weed eater companies are going to 1 inch handles (except one we found at 3/4"). I am told we don't like anything with hose clamps and it needs to be adjustable.

They are typically called a 'D' handle so try using that as your search criteria.

How about something like this... welcome back

You could have holes running down the side and use a clip-on, like these but with larger hand grips....

You could have this grip with spring pressure, add a handle that allowed one side to slide in, making it adjustable by position...

Anyone ever order from terapeak? Are they a good vendor with reputable supply chains?

Drew K

*edit:

They are an auction style seller. I need a manufacturing supplier.

Maybe your local Mcculloch dealer?

If quantity is large enough, maybe contact Mcculloch and see about OEM account.

It's probably worth buying one from anywhere first, to see if it's suitable.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=McCulloch%20MC-%20300834&oq=McCulloch%20MC-%20300834&rlz=1C1VFKB_enGB662GB662&aqs=chrome..69i57.19871j0j8

That was a google.co.uk search for "McCulloch MC- 300834", not sure how it will play if you click on the link?

Google won't let me do a .com search.

The Shindaiwa 22T string trimmer handle fits 22mm dia in the style you have indicated.

It is very common to find the same handle used on several tube diameters. Shindaiwa had 20mm, 22, 24 and 28mm diameter tubes and the same handle was used on 22 and 24mm by inserting a 22mm id x 24mm od sheet metal bushing into the handle and then clamping on. The bushing could be one-piece and split or in two halves depending on whether you have access to slide it on to the end of the shaft.

In your case, use a 1" handle and a 1/16" wall bushing.

What happened at that other place with testing all the motors? Did they poop you out the front door?

They went through a management change. The Plant manager quit because he was tired managing the plant and being the machinist (they wouldn't pay enough to attract a real machinist and the plant manager had the experience and drive to get things done...until he had enough). When he quit, they put the quality control guy in charge of the plant. We didn't see eye to eye and I don't tolerate morons yelling at me about things they have no experience with so he got rid of me as soon as he could.

It's all good now, I have a better job close to family and friends. Not too many hours away from you.

Every time a front door is closed by an irate husband, a back window is opened.

Every time a husband slams a front door and verbal sex is done in the hallway, a black widow is spawned somewhere in suburbia.

If you (Bingle) something like (ergonomic handles) , you might actually get a better slant on this question...
