I'm currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical system design and coordination with other disciplines on a variety of building projects.
Responsibilities
o Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering
o Track record of sustainable, low energy and innovative approach to design including projects designed to achieve LEED certification
o Using the output of energy models to inform design decisions
o Design of mechanical systems including: heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and controls.
o Preparing contract drawings, detailing the designed systems and using Revit.
o Writing of project reports and specifications
o Engaging with contractors for pre-construction and construction support activity
o Familiarity with codes, specifically CMR, IMC, ASHRAE standards 55, 62.1, 90.1
o Coordinating work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
o Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
o Managing development and work of other staff
o Responsible for remaining current on new technology
o Responsible for project management, including day to day financial management on medium or large projects.
o Proposal Writing
o Communication Skills
o Tailors design and services to meet client needs
o Maintains good relationships with existing clients
Requirements:
· Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering
· 7-10 years of experience
· PE required
· NCEES preferred
· LEED AP BD+C preferred
· Good communication skills essential for team-based working
· Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
· Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
