I suggest you learn to perform web searches to gain enlightenment on your queries.

The working parts of the Liquid Ring vacuum pump/compressor consist of a multi-bladed rotor which is mounted eccentrically on the shaft in a round casing which is filled with water and air. As the rotor revolves and the liquid is thrown by centrifugal force to the outer most parts of the casing, it creates a water ring, which is concentric with the I.D. of the casing. Because of the eccentric placement of the rotor in relation to the casing and liquid ring, the spaces between the blades fill with air/gas at the inlet. This air/gas is then compressed by the liquid as it revolves to the compression point, which is then discharged and the cycle starts over again.

The Liquid Ring vacuum pump/compressor is capable of handling small amounts of process carry over with out damage. The internal liquid fluid is not just the compressant responsible for the work, but cools the pump, and actually helps scrub impurities from the air/gas.

If you don't understand this description, well, accept that it works and be done with it.

At the very least, it would be civil of you to make a response to one who makes an effort to assist you, and or continue the thread. I am referring to your yesterdays post.

Congrats. excellent description. He should have the courtesy to thank you.

Please I must now bother you for my very own knowledge- please detail me its application & efficiency i.e: which process utilizes this (textile/sugar/oil etc.) and on which type of processing machine? Being a utility pipeline designer where can I use this in my application of pressurized process water (4 bar) both hot & cold for processing machines of Textiles & washing/Dyeing process.

My experience with this type of mechanism is limited to a shipboard operating environment, so it would probably be best to check out the site I posted for technical/application assistance.

The applications in which I used them was as a vacuum pump for priming pumps that need a lift assist to start pumping (e.g.,bilge pump) and as ships service air compressors supplying control air and service air, so the fundamental design can be used either way. There are some variations to these machines; some have a concentric rotor that rotates within an eccentric casing.

Although they generate heat in operation, the beauty of them is that there is no friction due to touching parts, but they do lose their tolerances over time. I rebuilt one once and believe me, the tolerances are critical.

Vaccum pumps are used everywhere in the process industry, i.e, vaccum extraction, vaccum drying, vaccum distillation, vaccum evaporation, vaccum crystallization; vaccum filling, etc.

...where can I use this in my application of pressurized process water...? I don think your process calls for using vaccum.

The pump used for priming non self primed pumps, fire water stations and also in automatic evacuation stations are enabling to control operations of main pumps in industry. The main usage of the pump is to ensure a permanent vacuum necessary for some industrial productions; the pump can also be used as low pressure compressors
