Real Life problems thru technology !

Well m sort of new to dis networking fraternity and eager to b a part of it...I wanna begin dis discussion thru various real life problems we face or have seen others facing them..

For eg.

1.The blind cant see the taxi meter.N thus making a module which recognises the readings and then "voice" those readings can be pretty much useful. A bit of character recognition and text to speech processing combined together can save the blind from the clutches of rogue "rickshawallas"..(rickshaws are prevalent in india)...

2.The second (on which i m thinking) is an unit which can be used for automated attendance.The unit will "call" the roll nos. and wait for a specified period. ON detecting a voice from a student( employing the technique of voice recognition can ne useful ),it proceeds to call the next number...likewise the process can be automated...

So let us pool some problems which we can solve thru technology...:)
