AC flows back and forth (50 or 60 cycles per second [Hz] typically ) DC flows in one direction. (conventionally from Plus to minus terminals)

It is easy and conveient to generate/transmit AC.

Batteries produce DC.

A transformer will convert AC to other AC voltages relatively efficiently. There is no such simple way of converting DC to other voltages.

Is that brief enough?

It's a bit wordy.

How about this;

AC alternates, DC doesn't.

Dear Ravindrareddy. Bhimavarapu.

This is clear that for creating of electrical current through a load a potential difference is needed. With potential difference it is meant that one point should have higher voltage than the other. In electrical systems the point having higher potential or higher voltage is called positive point. And the conducting line connected to this positive point is called positive line or phase line. And the point with lower potential or voltage is called the negative point. And the line connected to this point is called negative line or the neutral line or zero line. The need for existence of potential difference to the flow of electrical current through a circuit actually tells us that in order to have a current flow in an electrical load we need at minimum two lines to connect the source of electrical energy to the load. These two lines will create a potential difference across the load by transfer of the potential difference of the source to the load. Thus the current flow will be established in the load. Now if the higher potential or positive point of the source or line connected to the positive point of the source remains positive through out the period in which the whole system(Source, transmission lines and the load) are working together remains positive and the negative line or point always remains negative this is called DC current. If the positive point or line remains positive for very small period of time during its operation period in which the whole system is working together and then changes to negative because of the internal generator action supplying current to the load and this action takes place simultaneously and continuously through out the operation of the system than this is called AC current.

Examples of these sources are the batteries of your car which produces DC voltage and the electrical voltage supplying the house electrical energy is AC voltage.

Dc means direct current.If you draw a graph w.r.t time and magnitude you will find a straight line.But in case of ac current it varies sinusoidally. In a full cycle you will find two zero and 2 max value.For better discussion see Theresa Vol 1.

Actually,

AC is rather a magical property. It is far more versatile than DC, and lends the ability of creation possibilities far more than DC could ever dream of. AC, in a nut shell, gives choice/is-the-doorway to all design possibilities.
