Don't they have air shows where you live? We have them every year....It's great you can get up close and personal with all the aircraft....You can't believe how big some of these planes are till you're standing under the tail section and it's about 5 stories high...

Well I dont live in Switzerland.... I liked the images of the planes flying over the Alps. This is quite uncommon, or not?

Quite common for the Swiss Air Force.

On the other hand.... no, we do not have air shows in my country. Having only a couple of obsolete jet fighter planes in the air force, if there were airshows, we probably would loose most of them due to mid air malfunctions. But nobody cares much about this, cause we have no enemy countries to attack, nor fear of being attacked

This looks an absolutely amazing airshow. The people look so close and the scenery looks amazing! How could you fail to get a shot you liked, you could miss the plane on purpose and still have a wallpaper. Thanks for sharing, although you've now given aspirations of visiting Switzerland.

Excellent work.

Now - this brings up the question: The world's most nonbeligerent, most neutral country with assets of nearly every country stored there needs an air force because they just like airshows???

You'll notice that one of the military jet teams shown in the video clip is the Italian Air Force Demo team, the Frecce Tricolori. They use the Red, White, and Green smoke.

Remember them? That were involved in that horrific airshow crash back in 1988 at Ramstein Air Base, West Germany. Many died on the ground 9along with a few of the pilots) because of a dangerous crossover that resulted in a mid-air collision. My kid brother, an USAF F-4E Phantom II pilot, was stationed there at the time, actually siting on the 5-minute Alert Pad and saw it all unfold from across the main runway.

Next time he was home, he brought with him a VHS tape of the accident, compiled from at least 2 dozen POV, near and far, and from all compass points, as shot by off-duty USAF and German Luftwaffe personnel. Pretty gruesome.

Well.... the Frecce Tricolori (3 colored arrows) certainly belong to a new generation that (I expect) have learned what NOT to do in these shows.... Nevertheless airshows are extremely dangerous not only for the pilots , but also for the public (remember the plane crash at Shoreham by-Sea, in the UK with 11 casualties in 2015). During the last 10 years there have been about 60 accidents during these exhibition worldwide.
