Canon Pixma MP620 Printer Error

This is a well known Canon printer error, detailed many times on the internet, if not detailed well from Canon themselves.

It is usually (in my experience) a permanent error, produced when printing past the warning to replace an ink tank, and burning out the print head (which needs to be cooled by ink all the time).

There are other errors that are basically the same:- "the print head has a permanent error", in my opinion usually also caused by overheating!!

Which reminds me of my favourite German saying:-" He saves money, no matter what it costs!"

The only fix is to replace the print head and always replace an ink tank when requested.

As far as I am aware, most other makes will not print further when a tank is empty, which probably stops them getting the same problem.....

I still use my Canon 5350, as I bought a new print head which worked out far cheaper than replacing the printer.

Notice I did not say "cheap!"

I like the features and quality of printing of a Canon printer when comparing to others.

I also buy ink tanks from other (really cheap!) companies, usually on ebay, and save several times over the cost of at least two "print heads" each year.....but as I now know what the problem is, it has never happened again!!

There are several other errors which mean basically the same thing "replace Print head", and there is one failure, where no error is posted, but the printer does not place any ink on the paper, but runs as though everything is really OK!

Some years ago, I bought two printers exactly the same as mine with both errors (very cheap of course, $10 or less for each!) and I moved my new print head around and each and every on ran perfectly with the new print head installed!!! I now have 2 good spares and a good running one!

I was also given a Canon printer of another type that was not running and repaired it. I also found that it uses the same print head!!! What luck!! So two working Canon printers.....
