Freedom to watch monsters

11/08/2005 3:02 PM

In a wave of recent freedoms sweeping China one of the more interesting is the rise in interest in lake monsters, UFOs, Bigfoot type creatures and other cryptoids. It turns out that they were viewed as superstitious and such things were discouraged. However they are now realizing there are big bucks in tourism for some of the new boom towns where you can see Kanasi Huguaithe Chinese equivalent of Nessie.

I guess the Gang of Five didn't want to share Mao's Little Red Book with the little green capitalists from Alpha Centauri.

Lake Monsters

11/09/2005 1:15 PM

It is too bad the ABC news article grouped the lake monsters with other less credible creatures. It doesn't seem too far fetched to imagine that once living creatures(see fossils)are indeed still living in remote areas of the world. This would be especially true of marine creatures. For more on this read the very interesting article entitled 'Are dinosaurs alive today?' at answersingenesis.org. Scientists seem to be less open minded than they should be about this. Why is that?

Correction: I should not have said "scientists", but 'some scientists'. There are many who will objectively look at the evidence. The answer may lie in the assumptions they make before even considering the evidence or what would be called presuppositions.
