Earthing System

08/13/2007 8:22 AM

Dear Sir:

if you have a system consisted of the following items

1- 8 generators (each: Capacity: 1 MW, Voltage: 460 V, Rating Current:2500 A )

2- 4 transformers (0.46/13.8, YND11, 3.5 MVA, Delta [LV] - Star [HV])

3- 2 Switch gears

Each 2 generators are connected to one transformer

Each two transformers are connected to one switch gear

The two switch gears output are connected to one feeder.

what is the best way to earth the system ( i.e: by connecting the NGR in the low voltage side, to the engine neutral, or on the high voltage side, to the transformer neutral) and why?

thanks,
