Metal furniture for 800 Deg C application

I have a small 18x18 inch and 20 inch high KILN I want to makeuse of the space max so the corderite furnitures are not clean and they are thick kindly tell me any good metal that can withstand this temperature and under some nominal load

Size will be slightly smaller 16x16 and thickness is to be decided

what about SS or any other metal should be easily available and easy to fabricate and not very costly

i dont know RUL ..etc

We use Inconel 601 for similar applications, wall thickness will depend on load and design/size. It does oxidise slightly in air, will you be concerned about contamination?

am based in India. want to use this for Ceramic decoration normall people use alumina or Corderite furniture

since space is ver less if i can avoid 15mm furnture with some 4 to 6 mm SS or Inconel 601(new to me)

can i have more on this

contamination should be nil because i am going to decorate ceramic cups for POP materials

do you find it clean and scale free

what do you mean by similar application? Ceramic decoration

if so pls give me some info on how you use it fabricate it advantages & disadvantages

Mild steel is cheaper (and therefore cheaper to replace) than exotic stainless steels or other metals, such as titanium. It is also easier to clean than ceramic furniture. Melting temperature of mild steel is around 1500 deg C.

you can have furniture fabricated from Quartz. The material is pure (99.99% Sio2), and can handle temperatures to 1050C with no issues.

Depending on weight requirements the parts use little space.

The parts will not be cheap, but neither is Inconel.

Depending on you location, I may be able to help with locating a fabricator for the RFQ.

You can use Marinite P , a structural mineral board to make a shelf. it will withstand 1700 to 1800 F. we sell this material, cut to size. It is 1 inch thick and sells for $0.50 per square inch. I would use inconel 625, it can handle 800 degrees C well and in allot of corrosive environments at this temp. It is expensive though, I pay over 40.00 per pound for the welding rods. I use it on the ends of my glass blowpipes and it lasts when they are routinely seeing 1300 degrees C and cooling in water quench. I would be cautious about using any stainless other than maybe 310 as it will scale pretty bad. I use all high alumina ceramics inside my glass furnace which will run close 1300 C at times. Ceramics just seem to handle the heat better at a much lower cost than any of the high temp metals.

actually i want to use the space efficiently and some handy furniture so that I can transport also if required

But as you said SS310 -doesn't this oxidise at 800 c

pls confirm then I can go for it

but they are not brittle too like ceramic,corderite...furniture

Let me check on the ss 310 i was assuming it would not oxidize at 800 c but better check and get back. Inconel 625 would be the best in my opinion . not sure if you can get it in india though.
