Nessie fans fear Avian Flu

11/14/2005 10:05 AM

As if the current commotion over avian flu hasn't reached epic proportions there are now bans on "egg baiting" and throwing chicken carcases into Loch Ness. This stems form the fear that Nessie, as a possible dinosaur, would be highly susceptible to the avian flu. This is because birds are believed to be a direct descendant of dinosaurs. Here is an article on the whole theory from the Nessie Blog.

That's using your head!

Yup, it sure would be a shame to kill nessie with the avian flu... I mean, if it's a dinosaur, and birds are descended from dinosaurs, then it makes 100% perfect sense!

On the other hand, if they killed it, and it floated to the surface...

Descended from birds?

11/15/2005 12:40 PM

There is one big problem with that last statement and therefore the whole premise of this story. Birds did not descend from dinosuars. (You really should have said, 'birds are believed by some to have descended from dinosaurs.' I certainly don't beleive that, and there are a lot of very qualified scientists who do not beleive it either.) How can we say that something has descended from something else? If you read what evolutionists write they will mention natural selection as part of the explaination. Ask any qualified geneticist though and you will be told that as things 'descend' there is a very real decline in something that is very needed if dinosuars are going to 'develope feathers and wings',just to mention 2 of many strutures unique to birds. That item is information. Natural selection always, always means a loss of information. So where does the information come from to form the amazing structure of a bird. Have you ever studied the anatomy of a bird? Ask yourself where all that information came from to begin with? (Do some research on this so-called dino-bird connection. Read both sides of the issue. I think you'll be surprised.)
