Daniel S600 Flow Computer Interfacing with an Emerson CD100P Densitometer

Hello,

This is my first time posting on CR4. Hope this works.

I'm replacing a legacy solartron densitometer, offshore in Iraq with redundant peak performance CD100P densitometer.

I will not have support.

Could someone here with a certain level of experience in S600 flow computers tell me how to go about this?

I've managed to buy barriers, wiring, terminals and everything else required to connect them.

However, the following information worries me:

- The CDM100P gives a TPS(time period signal) output. Whereas the legacy solartron gives a frequency output. I'm not sure what this means.

- The CDM100P gives the TPS output at around 24V, whereas the densitometer input on the S600 accepts a maximum voltage of 12Vpeak to peak. Someone on linkedin told me that I had to use a DTI (Density transducer interface) module. Then he disappeared, leaving me sweating.

Any help, nudge or scribble will help me a long way.

I usually have support from the U.S. when I run into problems.

This time around, I'm freelancing and I won't have this preivilege.

Then freelance into the original equipment suppliers by telephone, otherwise waiting a long tome to get nowhere will be the inevitable outcome.

A voltage divider will probably work fine, two resistors, but you need to know the input current of the computer, and the output capability of the instrument, and pick a resistance value that will keep your voltage up while not overloading your output.
