Hi there, I applaud efforts to provide employment and improved standards of living to rural areas in any part of the world.

I am concerned that the desire in developed, energy hungry countries for fossil fuel substitutes is going to drive ecologically dangerous (e.g. deforestation) and unsustainable agricultural practices while competing for land with food production when sizeable parts of the world have insufficient.

I've not seen the studies nor the international policy making that I would consider prudent before 'going for broke' on biofuel production. Oh, that might demand compromise on ALL our parts.

We can't keep pretending that enough science and technology will enable us to get a quart out of a pint pot. As time goes on the Earth is looking more and more like a pint pot.

hi there,

i agree with you ,but i carry a new plant is called jatropha which is planted in desert by waste water so it's cheap.we will not come to forestes to destroy it to plant our biodiesel.

also the jatropha oil dont used in any human industry or not used for food.

its only for power & energy,so its no problem in food.

so, i think that jatropha will be the true future for this world in energy.
