Hughes Aircraft Company worked with GM to support the "Sunraycer" team many (many) years ago. What became of that vehicle?

Try it in Seattle Wa. I would bet the speeds would go down.

I look at all these pictures and all I can think of is all the exposed surfaces that don't have any solar cells on them. Perhaps they have already done the calculations and the extra energy would not be worth the extra weight, but there are thin film solar collectors. I have even heard of solar collector paint. It just looks wasteful to me.
