Synthetic Biology Comic from Nature

12/01/2005 4:44 PM

In hopes of making synthetic biology seam cool Nature has a web comic starting a young child scientist, named Dude of all things, and his mentor, a blond supermodel type in a lab coat and glasses to show she is smart. Not to sure how comfortable I am with the concept of bio-engineered bacteria being "cool" but the comic is a fun read.

Note: You'll need Flash to read it.

That was something...

Well, that was an interesting little story. I'm not sure what the message/goal is either, but I guess I'm glad to see someone trying to explain something (anything!) scientific to kids (which I assume is the target audience).
