Perhaps you have seen reports in the news about how Apple had engineered their i-phone batteries to degrade in their phones, in a effort to force the consumer to purchase a newer phone.
( Of course they didn't tell anyone they were doing this ) so consumers thought that this was a natural process and salesmen sought to convince the buying public that it was time to upgrade .
( Definition of, " upgrade " . in marketing your not actually getting a better phone with substantially more features, your just getting the same old device that has been repackaged differently )
In an effort to assuage customers, Apple announced today that it would offer replacement batteries, not for the regular price of $ 79.00 usd , but for $ 29.00 usd.
If Apple really wanted to provide real Transparency, they would provide a free replacement.
As an example of Transparency ( are you watching Mr Apple ) take a clue from this manufacturer of Chinese electrical motors.
