Thermodynamic solar with Galinstan

09/09/2007 3:36 AM

we are experimenting a Thermodynamic solar concentrator using the eutectic alloy Galinstan, patented in Germany, someone informed us we can find a copy of Galinstan in China. Does anyone have suggestions how to encapsulate Galinstan bulbs in order to handle high temp of more than 500 degrees?

it boils at 1300 C, so it is OK above 500C.

it is just an alloy and you can tailor the allow to the use. No patent at all. Just you cannot use the trade name galinstan.

so call it gallimetal or somesuch moniker
