Match the Drug to the Warning Label

09/11/2007 10:57 AM

I got 8 out of 10 and I don't know what some of these drugs are. Based on the side effects though I don't want to!

I take enough nasty drugs that I spend a lot of time in pharmacies, where typically a 20 year old blond pharmacy intern always asks "Do you have any questions?" If I'm feeling a little frisky, I'll ask "How can I tell if I'm one of these 6% who will suffer severe urinary tract bleeding from this drug". Usually after about 5 minutes of red-faced stammering, she'll go get the manager who tells me to shut up and get out. Try it. It's fun on a rainy afternoon.

Those are some nasty side affects. I got 6/10 correct, 4 of which I knew or was able to deduce from others I know are on those type medications.

It makes huge sense to check out the side effects of any drugs prescribed for you or your loved ones.

Trust yourselves not the medics....

My Son's tremor in his arms was diagnosed as 'Psychosomatic' it was seriously effecting his re-hab from spinal injury and threatening to drive him further into depression. We checked out his medication, found it was a 'side effect'.

Change of medication...he could pick up his guitar again and recommence recovery... BE WARNED.

I'm not on any commission, but if you guys want an insight into drug company antics read "Food Is Better Medicine Than Drugs" by Patrick Holford & Jerome Burke (Piatikus). Even if this book is only 50% true it's some eye opener on pharmaceutical muggings!
