Indeed! I'm surprised to see them using such a large choppy body of water for the trials.. It seems like a bilge pump would be worthless if one good wave came over..

Some sort of spray skirt seems like it might be a good idea.

I live on a small lake (more like a large pond). These little boats would be great! Mr. BIS and I could drive one down to the restaurant at the end of the lake and tie up at their dock just like we were big shots. Fun video.

That's a great idea! Imagine owning a boat that's not a money pit?.. There's no place for the expensive accessories.

I could see myself making something like one of those for biking down to the lake on a calm day.. maybe with a water skiing squirrel

I have seen some small one person wood boats on the lake at my families camp and some of them really move. The ones I have seen look sort of like these but have a wider sort of wing around them. I would imagine that would add stability but it is hard to say. The company that makes the hacker-craft is in our bay so they may be pet projects or something.

Hey, thanks for the link to the DIY mini-boat! Just sent it to Mr. BIS. Now that the weather's improving we could build that sucker outside on the deck.

Maybe the Russian guy has a giant invisibility cloak? The thought of that much money makes my brain hurt.
