Nonsense.

  • The installation will have had a Valve Schedule document created at the time it was built, giving details of the make and type of valves and their sizes so that the right ones could have been ordered.
  • The valves will have been specified in line with an internal Valve Standards document so as to maintain relevance and to reduce maintenance spare parts holdings.
  • The Valve Schedule document will have been revised to "as built" at handover for operation of the plant so that the maintenance facility at that location has a record of what was installed and when.
  • The maintenance operation will have service records for the valves from previous maintenance activities, and a minimum level of compatible spares in stock, and
  • The facility's purchasing operation will have records of what was purchased for what and when for previous maintenance activities.
  • The local friendly Valves Distributor will be able to identify these valves immediately, Go directly, for there is no need to bother CR4.

In a well-run facility, that is.

Your first statements sound like ego grandstanding , did your aspirations to attain a management position in your working life fail to eventuate ? I hope it made you feel important.

and regarding the last line , my friendly local valve suppliers cannot thus far identify the makers name .

the equipment was made in the USA using valves from an unknown source which could be anywhere on earth and no documentation was provided for the valves , nor was any schematic supplied.

Since you will have to remove the valve from service to rebuild it, simply replace the valve with a new one of known origin, with a rebuild kit for later use and move on.

The equipment has 5 of these valves .

new price $360 each = $1800

seal kits are around $31 each = $155

replacing them is a waste of money and environmentally wasteful.

So, if you know the prices, you know who makes them and how to rebuild them. Why argue with us?

These type of valves are made to be rebuildable.

i have resealed many from different manufacturers so I know the costs.

how many manufacturers are there globally ?

This one does not have a clear link to its manufacturer.

Have you tried to contact the Valve Manufacturers Association ?

I would start there first.
