The program you are looking for is Simantic Manager from Siemens. The problem is that liscensing fees are very expensive for this application and they are quite sensitive about non-authorized users

If you are planning to do any program modifications, the software you need depends on the type of Siemens PLC (S7-200 uses MicroWin, S7-300 & S7-400 use Step7, older S5 uses Step5, Siemens' Texas Instruments 505 series PLCs use SoftShop for Windows or TISOFT for DOS, the Koyo branded 305 & 405 use DirectSOFT5). Besides needing Siemens' software, you may also be faced with a "locked" program if the PLC you are trying to upload the program from came on a piece of equipment. The OEM may have locked it to protect their intellectual property or to require a service call for programming changes. Siemens software is powerful, but not intuitive; I would recommend you contact a local systems integrator who has the experience you need.

Have you tried the blisteringly obvious Siemens website?

You will find it here.

hI,

YOU HAVE TO OPEN SIMATIC MANAGER,(OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE TO CONNECT THE PC ADAPTER OR THE INTERFACE THAT YOU HAVE TO THE PLC), CREATE NEW PROJECT, AND BEFORE ANYTHING YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE "SYSTEM DESTINY" AND CLICK ON "UPLOAD PG", THEN APPEAR A WINDOW TELLING YOU WHAT IS CONNECTED AND ONLY CLICK ON YES.

THIS UPLOAD IS NOT EFFECTIVE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE THE ENTIRE PROJECT( NO SYMBOLS, AND MAYBE IN THE HARDWARE CONFIGURATION SOME MODULES ARENT IDENTIFY, AND SOMETIMES, WHEN YOU OPEN A BLOCK, IT SHOW YOU ERRORS)

SO CHECK IT, BE CAREFULL, SIEMENS PLC ARENT FRIENDLY WITH THE MOST OF USERS

For connecting a PC (Laptop, Notebook) to the S7-400, you will need a generally available RS-232 cable (null modem cable; recommended: RS-232 cable according to CE industrial standard). If you have to make your own cable, the pin-outs can be found on page 8-36 here:
www.ad.siemens.com.cn/download/Soft/00001/424ish_e_2002_12.pdf

This cable can be used for uploading/downloading programs and for monitoring/diagnostics.

Sorry, but if you want connect a PC to a S7-400, the simple rs-232 cable null modem, it doesnt works, check the interface port, and you´ll see that the most of siemens plc has a rs485, MPI named by siemens this port is for connecting and you need a special adapter sell by siemens, jejejeje.

or in the case that you have a PG by siemens, it has a mpi interface card on PC, and you need a MPI cable,

Bye

For you to upload the programme from the PLC to to PC following are required.

I am referring to S7-200

1) PC with com port

2) PLC under review

3) PPI Cable Rs232 Multi master Isolated

4) Step7 Microwin Software loaded on to the PC

Once these items are located, you can connect the cable to the PC and PLC

Open the software Microwin and confiure the communication like baudrate,PLC station Id etc

You can upload the programme from PLC to PC, provided there is no password embeded onto the PLC.

Should you require any further details further details can be furnished.

What can be done if the program is loaded with a password?? I have 17 machines with s7 200 and if i cant get the program to load i will have to change them all and mark Siemens off my approved vendor list.

I hope you can help.

thanks

Joe

The password cannot be cracked. You have to get the password from the author, for any change or modifications of the programme.

This is common for all PLCs,why should you find fault with Siemens?
