In late October, "Mighty Mouse" a 270-kilogram bomb disposal robot successfully removed a small chunk of cobalt-60 that was threatening the testing capabilities at the Gamma Irradiation Facility at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Exposure to radiation from the cobalt source would have been lethal to a human in just 30 seconds, and protective suits wouldn't have helped much, so Mighty Mouse was sent into action. Although the removal procedure was somewhat complex, it was safely completed in 90 minutes.
My only question: Did he operatically call out "Here I Come to Save the Day", like his cartoon namesake?
