You may seek those answers on Google, the rest would do the same thing.

What hinders you from that method?

Most electronics text books will have a circuit diagram for a simple series voltage regulator. It is a good project to learn on and can be done with just a couple of transistors a few resistors and a zenner diode if you want it a little bit more stable.

This is what I found in about 5 seconds by typing 'discrete series regulator' into google.

Hi Rohit If you want to be a good engineer make the effort and learn don't ask others to do the work for you. Please don't take offence at this it is meant as constructive criticism. When most of the engineers here on CR4 were studying the internet didn't exist, computers were in there infancy research consisted of spending hours in library's reading books memorising formulas etc calculations were done with log tables and slide rules. Now-days it is so much easier to get knowledge but the knowledge you gain from hard work will be retained for a life time. When you use someone else to do the work for you you retain nothing.
