The rest of your post seems to be about anti-aliasing filters before an analogue to digital convertor I guess?
Oh! maybe its a typo and you mean a CD amplifier with its analogue to digital convertion?
I'm not an audiophile but I think in a CD player the sampling rate is at 44kHz so the Nyquist frequency is half that. So with a sharp low pass cutoff filter the maximum frequency to get sampled will be less than 20 kHz.
