Quality Thermistor, Inc. Announces Lead (Pb) Free Surface Mount Thermistors.
Boise, Idaho – Quality Thermistor, a 26-year-old leading designer and manufacturer of NTC and PTC Thermistors is making available as an option passivated, lead free, solderable Surface Mount (SMD) Thermistors. The lead-free SMD components continue to feature the Leach-Guard integrity, while eliminating the lead in the termination finish.
Impending legislation in the European Union (EU) is challenging the electronics industry to design, manufacture and deliver heavy-metal free products for the EU. The EU has passed a ban effective July 1, 2006 that will not allow for the importation of most electronic products containing lead and other defined hazardous materials.
According to Todd Ketlinski, Quality Thermistor's Vice President and General Manager, "The effort to research, design and build lead-free devices is not only a necessary investment for doing business in the European Union in the near future, but is also a good investment as a responsible, world citizen".
Quality Thermistor, Inc. has decided to lead the Thermistor industry in manufacturing lead-free products for the EC market well in advance of pending legislation. As of September 1, 2004 Quality Thermistor, Inc. will make available in quantity the following Pb-Free parts:
· NTC QT0805 Series
· NTC QT0603 Series
· PTC QTCH Series
· PTC QT0805 Series
