FARMINGTON HILLS, MI & RUGBY, ENGLAND, – GSI Lumonics announces the opening of two regional sales offices in mainland China - one in Shanghai, the other in Beijing – to more fully support the growing market for the company's laser products within the region. According to Laser Group Director of Sales & Marketing for Asia/Pacific, Riccardo Tomassoni, the UK-based laser manufacturer is undertaking this opportunity "to strengthen our relationship with the Chinese markets through direct factory involvement and careful dialogue with our customers in this increasingly important area."
The regional offices are being managed by seasoned GSI Lumonics employees, who boast impressive credentials within the industry as laser processing and applications specialists. They will be establishing both sales and support activities as well as strengthening the company's existing distributor network to insure an effective and pro-active presence in the region. The Chinese offices will handle the complete range of GSI Lumonics laser products including: the JK industrial Nd:YAG series which has become an industry standard for welding, cutting and drilling applications; the Spectron Laser OEM line, including both lamp and diode-pumped series with multiple lasing media; and the Lumonics Laser series of high-performance excimer and CO2 –based gas lasers.
To further engage the Chinese markets, GSI Lumonics will be participating in a growing number of regional trade shows and exhibitions during 2005, including ILOPE, the Chinese International Machine Tool Show, and the Essen Welding Show.
