Pens for Engineers

09/14/2018 11:25 AM

For your Friday musing, a collection of pens designed for engineers. The fidget pen intrigues me. The Ti2 has a feature I would never have considered: the nib is designed to lie right next to a straight edge for drawing. See anything here you want to put on your gift list?

About the only thing I would want from a new pen is for it to automatically measure its 'scaled distance' movement while drawing lines! Now THAT would be a useful DRAFTING pen!

#8, A tactical pen. Hmm, shall I write bad words to my enemies or just use the pen to poke their eyes out?

Adds meaning to " THIS pen is mightier than the sword..." because it works at a distance!!

When I was "doing engineering" I used the cheap plastic pens. Some of my time was in a lab combining stuff to get the desired electrical properties for whatever the application was. Do something, make notes in a notebook, test it, do some more.

When you are doing that, you lose pens every day. I still lose pens 30 years later.

If I got one of these, I'd just lose it.

If you are reimagining pens, how about one that turns what you write into a text file? I can't imagine a pen that would be more useful to an engineer.

I carried a Cross pen for years, when I was, "important." I wore shirts with pockets.

I wish I could find it now.

Never lose your nice pen again, thanks to Cross and TrackR – The ...
