Shumacher Battery Charger Schematic

I bought a junked Shumacher battery charger at a yard sale, hoping to repair it.

The transformer appears to be good, but the control board is missing, and all of the wires have been disconnected at the transformer.

If I knew the transformer pin out, I could make a useful charger out of it, and put it on a external timer.

It has 9 wires on the primary side, and 5 on the secondary.

The user's manual is not helpful as far as internal components go.

Schumacher Model SE-2152-MA

I have a 5212A, it only has 50amps, the 2152MA has 100 amps. Not sure if wiring diagram is the same but can't find any diagram on the 2152MA. I was going to open mine a take a pic but I really don't think it will help.

That would be fine but I have the 5212a that works, he has a 2152MA that doesn't....

I don't need a diagram for mine, Rednek needs one for his. They are different animals....

I found plenty of diagrams for the 5212a, as did S.E., can't find nothing on the 2152MA other then a user manual which offers no info needed.

Just for clarification...the schematic pictured in #1 is supposedly a 2152ma, I could not link to it because of a paywall...the link posted below it is the 5212a....sorry for the confusion....If you click on the picture it will bring you to the site, but you must sign-up to view the schematics, so that is at your own discretion, I am not endorsing the site... and I might add JPool is an excellent searcher and quite familiar with google image search....in any case I believe there is enough info to solve this wiring issue, that is, with proper test equipment ...

Thanks to everyone for their valuable input.The main thing I needed was the transformer taps.

A Z-Meter would have helped to determine the correct taps,but I don't have one,and ohm and voltage readings were not definitive.

The info provided on this forum have made it easy for me to figure out their (Shumacher) thought process,and it should be easy from here on.

Using your voltmeter readings and the AWG size of wire, you may no longer need the impedance meter...

The size of wires used in any of the transformer windings should be a give away indicator for how they will be connected and used..

I used same approach in multi-tapped transformers for power amplifier applications...
