Free Data Recovery Software

I am using a 40G external USB HDD with two partitions. Recently I discovered I can't access one of the partions and when I tried its property from my computer I noticed it is reading 0 byte as free space and used space and the file type as raw. What must have happened. Which software can I used to recover my data from this drive. I will appreciate any helpful information on how I can get out this problem.

hi

There may be a lot of reasons behind it, but it is your headache that how to get the proper problem.

1. there may be chances that partition table is corrupted .... in this case u can use the fdisk /mbr command from dos. or nortan disk doctor (NDD) you can get it form me with the payment of small cost.

2. There are very less chances of this problem is data corrupted . if this is the chance u can not recover your whole data. If your data is very important then u have to pay for it.

You can try this data recovery software. I tried them out and it's really easy to use. Just a few clicks, the scan is the longest part, then it shows you a list of recovered files. Give it a try. JT

Try Norton SystemWorks (any version from 2002 to the latest available) run direct from CD (no install needed/required). Select Norton WinDoctor and proceed/follow directions to correct problems from your external USB HDD.

There is a good chance of recovery of your files.

I have done this several times with my HDD when my notebook becomes unstable and not able to boot-up. I remove and mount it on a portable 2.5" HDD enclosure, revive it in another computer with this software, and it works!
