Ball Lightning Plasma: Temperature?

09/27/2007 12:39 PM

What would the temperature be within the ball lightning created in a domestic micro wave oven? see; http://jlnlabs.online.fr/plasma/gmr/index.htm seems an interesting experiment.

Generally around 10,000 K for a typical 600W to 1000W microwave-oven power level, maybe somewhat less. The plasma temperature has a logarithmic relationship to the power level - at least in plasma arcs and so, generally speaking, the temperature doesn't go up all that much with an increase in power level.
