Boiler Aerator

11/27/2018 7:04 PM

How do i solve this problem concerning a boiler aerator,this aerator is connected from the main condensate line from the factory.The problem is that there is water build up in the condensate line.To help keep the factory in operation we have by passed the condensate line to the condensate tank.

AERATOR DESCRIPTION;

Make;Cati CE1115. Italian.

S/no;742

Suva. Fiji Islands.

Hartley.

Volume;940 liters

Is this actually a "de-aerator" rather than a <...boiler aerator...>? The usual need for boilers is to de-aerate the feed water, which may have a percentage of condensate return in it, so as to reduce the amount of oxygen going into the boiler as a measure to minimise internal corrosion and improve the quality of the steam it produces. Please clarify.

There are chemical dosing methods employed in many installations. One of the most commonly-used boiler oxygen scavengers is sodium bisulphite solution.

The problem is possibly that of insufficient attention being given to the pumping of return condensate to the boiler house. It is not practicable to do this using the steam pressure supply without some form of pump as the condensate lines tend to flood back into the equipment: "Do not lift condensate" - Anonymous Poster #0. This phenomenon may be what is causing the need to bypass.

There is a wealth of experience on process utility steam and condensate systems, and several globally-recognised names of suppliers that can help.

It is a deaerate,can you advice seen that you are saying it could be that one of the pumps aren't working,but the other thing is that when all condensate is by passed to condensate tank there isn't water in the system.

It is not possible to see the problem from here.
