Tool angle grinder reverse rotation and break

I heard about a new attachment for a handheld angle grinder, which allows forward and reserve rotation. This would be a big advancement over the one way only angle grinder. Where can I buy one? Has anyone ever heard of this new take on an old tool?

Reverse direction

01/05/2006 12:53 AM

There is no usefull advantage to having a portable (hand held) angle grinder with a reverse switch. A fixed (pedastal mounted)angle grinder with a reverse switch also has no advantages as the fly off material cuttings must be diverted away from the operator. It does not make any sense to me why this may be required, the only advantage that I can see is to have the protective cover in a different position. Keep the forces that drive the cutter going away from the operator.

if you can direct the sparks away from the operator you can also be able to reduce the chance of kickback by hand held model a brake would allow the operator not to have to slow disc buy pressing down on disc when power is off ever accidently cut the power cords as the machine ran across the floor wheel still spinning?? makes sence to me

angle grinder

check your spelling dude, grinders don't reserve rotation. If you reverse rotation, how are you retaining self threaded flap discs? Willey E. Coyote has the patent on this thing, he and the Roadrunner are now living together in Sunny Lakes Retirement Center

angle grinder rotation

I guess the left hand threads on the retaining nut will have to change also. This is the most, well maybe not the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while, but it's right up there.
