Grinding Process of Diamond Drawing Die (Part 1)

01/04/2019 11:00 PM

Diamond wire drawing uses electric spark perforation. Now basically changed to laser perforation. Laser processing and electrical discharge machining perforation, the resulting hole types are rough holes, which must be mechanically ground to form.

Traditional mechanical grinders are available in both discrete and horizontal styles. The horizontal grinder is suitable for grinding small gauges (diameter <0.050mm). The spindle speed of the grinding machine is up to 3000R/mm, the rotating speed of the tray is also 50r/mm, the vibration frequency of the grinding needle is also about 100 times/min, and the amplitude is up to 1-3mm. The working efficiency of the ultrasonic grinding machine is obviously improved. More wire drawing die in wococarbide

Grinding steel needles are generally made of high carbon steel (T9A) or bearing steel (GCr15). Grinding needles are generally ground into 4 types:

1. The open angle needle is mainly used to grind the lubrication zone and the compression zone. According to the row requirements of each zone, the angle is 30-80 degrees, and the safety chamfer can be ground.

2. The angle needle is used to grind the compression zone, and the angle of the needle is 10-16 degrees.

3. The diameter needle is used to grind the sizing belt, and the working part angle is 0.

4. The round head needle is used to grind the exit area, and the needle is approximately spherical.

The shape of the die hole is guaranteed by the shape of the needle. When grinding, it is necessary to grind the needle according to the pre-designed shape, and the powder can be changed frequently to ensure the hole shape is accurate.

Gold-plated steel grinding needles are used abroad. It can extend the needle changing time and improve the grinding precision and efficiency.

The grinding of the new mold is generally carried out from the inlet zone-lubrication zone-compression zone-sizing zone-safe chamfering-exit zone, followed by coarse grinding and fine grinding;

Fine grinding can not grind the inlet and outlet zones, and polishing allows polishing only the lubrication zone, the compression zone sizing zone and the safety chamfer. Repair of old molds requires a repair process based on wear.
