Reaction Mixing HCL with Steel A516 GRADE70

Hi.

If I wanna do descaling with HCL 10-12%, what kind of gas can generate the reaction with steel A516 GRADE 70?

Hydrogen gas will be liberated by the pickling.

The concentration of Fe in the bath will be the limiting factor more so than the acid strength.

It is the evolution of Hydrogen gas bubbles that lifts the scale.

you will need to use a commercial inhibitor and neutralize the acid on the material, typically that is done with a lime water bath
