Can We Produce ETP Copper Components Using Sintering/Powder Metallurgy?

10/09/2007 12:18 AM

Is it possible to manufacture ETP Copper components by Sintering process? Which can give 100% IACS continuity. I searched some articles but unable to find continuity upto this mark. In some article I found resistivity we can achive lesser than that of other manufacturing process components. But still artical fail to describe about its purity i.e. 99.9% which is most desired. Can any one assist me to solve this? Thanks in advance for this.

yes, this will work. They do it with copper and brass to make oilite bearings.

These are sinterred copper or brass with the interstitial spaces filled with oil/grease.

They will sell you bulk material for your application, compressed and diffusion bonded by heat soaking without the oil to the density/void ratio you wish. There is oprobably minimum order. or you can buy oil filled meterial and degrease it with solvent
