Most Unlikely Movie Scientists

10/10/2007 9:20 AM

Wired Magazine has an article naming who they think are the most unlikely movie scientists.

Who is your vote for:

Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four?

Denise Richards in The World Is Not Enough?

I think my vote has to go for Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman & Robin. Although I think he makes a pretty convincing governor!

Gosh, I wish I could remember what film (or TV show) it was... Very young blond who's supposed to be a top expert in her field - cold fusion or something. She goes to a high-level symposium wearing a white lab coat (halfway unbuttoned) and she gives a short, emotional, nearly incoherent presentation that ends with "Don't you see? It HAS to work! It just HAS to!!" and she's all flushed and literally panting with excitement.

It was so horribly, laughably, screamingly wrong! Willing suspension of disbelief never had a chance.

That was Elizabeth Shue in "the Saint", with Val Kilmer. I think that it should go to Val Kilmer in the one where they made a huge jiffy pop popcorn thing and put it into the professors house and blasted it with a high power laser, filling his house with popcorn.

That would be Real Genius. Actually, I think the guy who played Lazlo (the man in the closet) was a better candidate.
