P4012 Perkings Gas Generator Not Starting

04/24/2019 9:51 AM

Hi Guys,

Am currently working on a 750KVA Natural Gas Generator in an oil field. The make of the engine is perkins and it has not run for long since procurement. the challenge they were having after installation was low load and they later bought a load bank to compensate the engine output of the Unit which actually did but after then they ran into crisis with the Gan.

the gen runs and will hunt and later shut down as a result of unstable frequency. Though i was not part of the history but they welcome me with it as i begin to seek solution to resolve the unit.

Currently, the Unit no longer start and what i notice is that fuel gas is not building up to the required volume at the left and right bank regulator. From the OEM standard, at the common head we are suppose to have 15Mbar but i cant achieve this because the Dungs double solenoid valve is not responding.

In view of further troubleshooting the inlet gas line, i noticed that the diaphragm of the regulators on the gas line have failed.

Now my question is this.

Can any one assist me on how i can get soft kit for kromschroder Regulator and shutdown valve? Also the Dungs Valve is not responding, Can i put is on Bypass.

Hope to get good responds guys.

I would contact a distributor, I think Honeywell deals with Kromschroder...or you might locate a user's manual for your generator that has source info...

Thanks for this info but the user manual only contain information only for the generator and nothing was presented about the gas line. I have located a distributor of the said product. The challenge I have at the moment is that they want me to procure complete regulator and its accessories which include the shutdown valve and the relief valve. All of this kind of increase the cost of the said quote budgeted for the job. Rather I will prefer if I can get the soft kit diaphragm and repair this one

I would contact the manufacturer to see if they make a rebuild kit and if so who is the distributor.... There might be a reason they sell it only as a package...you should bear that in mind....
