Best Open Innovation Platforms/Communities for Engineers?

Basically what the title says, I am looking for some open innovation platform/communities for engineers. Please do share if you know any! Thank you.

You don't give any hint as to your age, interests, or location so I can only make a vague suggestion.

That would be to search out Maker communities local to you and online. They're all over the world and have some of the brightest and best collaborators in the technical arts.

Use the links on Wiki; great advice. InventRight.com also has links to Co.'s that support open innovation through a plethora of industries. Try Arrow electronics through Indiegogo. You might think about a Provisional Patent Application (PPA) as protection. Major metro cities have invent clubs. Talk to a SCORE rep. Attend an engineering expo w/ booths vs conference w/seating.
