Interesting demonstration of AI. But the slapping is a little disturbing. It hints at the dangers of AI given all sorts of input as food for thought on forms of punishment. Just add some Horror film input and the violence factor would be frightening.

So many nuances and contextual mistakes as well. But given the limited material from which to work with, its an interesting reflection of the ideas.

No threat to story writers just yet. The plot needed more purpose but so do some of the movies that were referenced as input material. Could be useful to flat earth believers.

I lost interest when the Egyptian head piece appeared.

I'll try again later.

Why is it I still prefer the hand-drawn animation features over the newer, and arguably better quality computer generated graphics animation?

No matter how good AI gets, I still prefer the imperfect human touch.

I think it's the exaggerated features of a cartoon character that give it its personality, this makes it more relatable and interesting....

Computer generated characters look like dolls....

And as far as exaggerated features go, Betty Boop and Jessica Rabbit certainly had exaggerated features that one could relate to. ;-)

Well that's almost certainly true, but it doesn't mean you're wrong....

This is not "a computer generated experience."

This is a computer extrapolated experience.

The computer did not independently choose the format and subject material upon which to base the animation.

Had that actually happened, then AI would truly have been AI.

I'm not sure that if a computer was given the free choice of making a film that could either entertain or shock or ask questions of the viewer, putting its abilities to do any of those things up for question, it would actually bother or consider the action and use of time, to be pointless. It may just ask itself, "why should I?' and do nothing.

It's like AI music: there is no doubt that eventually AI will write music - after all, it's just a collection of notes..."all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order." The big question is why would a computer write a piece of music? It has to want to surely, and that's down to appreciation of all the things that make life what it is. Things that we cannot measure or quantify.

I was expecting more; however, knowing that the source of information is the so called human experience from our literature makes this scary. What does it say about us? Consider this: a message is received from those vast and distant stars, and this was the message. It ends with "we are out of fuel...garble, buzz...and about to land on your planet." Now what if this short response was also AI generated?

Not remarkably different from what I would expect of a four year old.

I find what is often called AI in the media would be better called machine learning. The two seem to be used interchangeably but what I personally consider AI is not the same as machine learning. I haven't seen any demonstrations online or otherwise of what I would call AI, just machine learning. From a media prospective, I think AI tends to catch more people's attention so that is often what is used.

I certainly can imagine that machine learning is the path to what many would call AI but I simply haven't seen that yet.

It's not the AI portrayed in movies, that's for sure....but this is still in its infancy...really just a curiosity...
