Cosmic Gamma Ray and Particle Detector

10/16/2007 9:34 AM

Dear Friends

Sensors Technology has now cosmic gamma ray detector and cosmic charge particle detectors. Soon we will place these detectors to gather information on solar wind, solar flairs. Our CsI:Tl detector can analyze charge particle types and their energies.

We recorded pulse height spectrum from cosmic gamma in October 16, 2007. See attached picture containing different pulse heights for the detected cosmic gamma rays. Count rate was only few gamma rays detected per minute due to small cross section (10mmx10mm) of the detectors. Detector depth is 5mm. We intend to us 50mm to 200mm depth detectors very soon to cover greater energies.

More data will be placed on different types of charge particle detection.

This Technology is affordable and good for the Science and Technology Institutes all over the world and I am willing to help any one wants this for educational purpose. Write to me using my private email listed on my website.

Here is new record of October 17. I found a very high energy gamma ray signal, nearly saturating the oscilloscope. Amplifier is still can handle it up to 10V. In this experiment pulse shaping time was 25us.
