What Is This and Where Can I Get More?

Its about 1.5" high. Its spring loaded. Looks like it holds a wire or something. What is it and where can I buy more.

Any more hints? Do you know where it came from or what it was used for? Does it have an obvious attachment method (threaded base)? Any idea if it was intended for electrical connections, holding in place a metal rod or something else?

Looks like a temporary electrical connector for science lab experiments. When in the fully closed position the LH hole in of the core will align with the LH hole in the sleeve. Putting stripped wire ends through the hole and then releasing the core will enable the spring to grip the two (or more) wires together to conduct.

That's a double hole cord lock....6 for $9 Amazon....

They also make a side-by-side version....

Just got back from the Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde and I was thinking with all that dusty hiking we did, the bottoms of our socks would have been very dirty with shoes like that.

Well they're not intended as hiking boots...I just wear them around the house...very comfortable...

I have seen similar on metal rods to hold them in place or for easy adjustment some times just the friction is enough to hold a light load. Sorry no photos.

I believe its from an Anorak or similar, to hold the cords in the right place. This one is for two cords.
