The thousands of tardigrades are dehydrated in a resin-like layer of a data disc. What I'm stunned to find out is tardigrades have already been dehydrated, rehydrated and revived after ten years of this stasis state already. Presumably somewhere in the data of the disc is the recipe for reviving these creatures.

Tardigrades might grow much larger in a low gravity environment....maybe one day the moon with be overrun with giant tardigrade dinosaurs...

...or like the creatures in Tremors...a lot can change in a billion years...

A much greater worry is the 62-63 million retardigrades in the US electorate.
