N9020A Signal Analyzer Display

08/16/2019 7:19 PM

The Keysight N9020A signal analyzer has a relatively small built in screen. Using the included VGA connector on the rear creates the extended desktop for the Windows 7 embedded OS.

I have an external monitor connected to the VGA for the second display/desktop. I want to connect a larger external monitor for the primary desktop display (built-in).

Has anyone done this? If so, how?

I'm not sure I understand what you want, but I use google cast to Chromecast and connect wirelessly to my extra remote monitor...

The signal analyzer has a VGA port on the back. When a monitor is connected to it the extended desktop is displayed. The control for this is part of Windows 7 as seen here:

...so my external monitor is used as display 2. The built-in screen on the signal analyzer is used as display 1. What I want to do is have both displays 1 and 2 on external monitors. I want to do this because the internal display screen is pretty small, especially for older eyes.

I currently use display 2 on either a 40" flat panel or projector. It makes a world of difference, especially for teaching.

Just convert the VGA to bluetooth or wifi signal....

I have the VGA to the extended desktop just fine. It's the screen I want to display externally.

There may be an option I can purchase, but I wanted to know if anyone here had succeeded doing this otherwise.

Just add another monitor...

..."You can run up to 10 monitors with Windows 7"...

As it turns out, Windows 7 support for multiple monitors wasn't the issue. In any case, video card(s) would be needed to support multiple monitors. The spec-an does not support additional video cards.

I found that the spec-an has an option to display the internal display on an external monitor. However, the video BNC connector on the rear isn't enabled unless one purchases the option i.e., unlocks a feature.
