Digital Protection Coupler

Dear sirs,

What is digital protection coupler? - as used in substation? Do they transfer trip commands? How the use of relays is achieved?

Do these have PLCs? I have come to know that they operate on 48 volts.

But a CR4 search is an imperfect real intelligence machine versus an artificial intelligence search engine.
