Viscosity of Furnace Oil

What is the viscosity of furnace oil at room temperature?

Well, that depends on what oil. 32 seconds oil has a viscosity of, wait for it, 32 seconds on a Redwood Viscometer. 40 seconds, well, I'll let you guess the answer to that one. I did have a conversion table from Redwood viscosity to the MKS system, but it blew away in the wind last night <splutter>.

I use firewood, when I can find it <sneeze>.

Do y'all keep your viscometer in a pressure chamber? Isn't it a bit difficult to operate there? Or are you thinking that if you measure viscosity in a vacuum, there won't be any viscosity?

At what pressure? Pleeeeaaaase!

FURNACE OIL OR #2 fUEL at ambient temperatures is 35 TO 40 SSU.

Colder weather say -20F your looking at around 80 to 200 SSU
