Enhanced Reality Contact Lens

01/30/2020 8:01 AM

Now they have it,1st phase of what I discussed back in May of 2019.

It will now progress to neural implant, and finally,in-vitro insertion.

To not allow one would put your child at a disadvantage to the other kids.

It is the future.Resistance is futile..except maybe for 2019-nCoV.

It's interesting technology, but I think I will pass on it.

The eye's field of vision is about 120 degrees vertically and horizontally, but most of it is peripheral vision which is low resolution. Only about 7 degrees in the center has high resolution, and this "searchlight" is constantly moved around to areas of interest detected by the peripheral visual field. The eye only looks in one direction at a time, and the brain eventually puts it all together.

Peripheral vision of the human eye

"...The visual field of the human eye spans approximately 120 degrees of arc[citation needed]. However, most of that arc is peripheral vision. The human eye has much greater resolution in the macula, where there is a higher density of cone cells. The field of view that is observed with sufficient resolution to read text typically spans about 6 degrees of arc, which is wide enough to allow a clear view of about five words in a row when printed text at ordinary size is held about 50 centimeters from the eyes..."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vision_span

The digital display in the contact would move with the eye, and would have to be in the high-resolution area to be read easily. It would be in front of your vision no matter where you look.

It's just my opinion, but I'm thinking it would more detract from normal vision than to be of any advantage.

I would anticipate that the development of the product would contain position sensing, gps, direction, angle and other features to make it appear to be a virtual-reality-like display. The display in the center would change according to where you were looking.

So you're saying VR contacts instead of VR goggles. Interesting...

Not virtual reality,but enhanced reality..like telescopic zoom vision,on demand maps,language translation,math calculations,etc.

I don't know how they will enable you to select what you want, but eventually you will just have to think about it.

I see a future where this is common place with neural implants becoming standard fare.

Quantum computers will become small and very powerful and personal like our present PC's,perhaps included in the neural implant.

Some quantum events are already occurring in the brain, according to some scientists.

I'm waiting for cone cell implants from an eagle (for distance) and a barn owl (UV Spectrum), now that would be enhanced capability.

Though the UV might get disturbing, since the closed eyelid would still produce image and that would pulse with your hearbeat!

This is as for terminator. Handy maybe for military.

Watch your twitter feed all the time night and day? If that is the life?

You could cause major problems for your children with something like that. Bad enough when they're looking at their phones. As for in vitro that's nonsense, it's never going to be small enough or relevant enough to human biology to implant in cells that are not yet eyes.

I'm guessing the contact lens will be as popular as glasses which do the same. That is, about the same as the x ray specs advertised in the back page of your comic book.
